چکیده

SUMMARY In the murine Ll2lO ascites tumor the resting stages were investigated on Days 5, 6, and 8 after transplantation of l0@ cells. The experimental work consisted of continuous labeling with thymidine-3 H combined with cytophotometric deter mination of the single-cell DNA content of unlabeled tumor cells. The present experimental data and earlier experiments with percentage of labeled mitoses and continuous labeling were analyzed by a computer method based on 2 alternative mathematical models for the cell kinetics in the tumor. In the 5-day tumor, no resting cells were found, while 4.2 and 44.8% were noncycling cells in the 6-and 8-day tumors, respectively. The new finding was the demonstration of a small but significant fraction of noncycling cells with G2 DNA content in the 6-and 8-day tumors (0.6 and 0.9%, respectively). Furthermore, the investigations confirmed the previous fmding of noncycling cells with G1 DNA content in the 6-and 8-day tumors (3.6 and 43.9%, respectively). The study provided evidence in support of the assumption of cell loss in the Ll210 tumor as an age-specific elimination of resting cells with G1 DNA content.

Antitumor Activity of Prosopis glandulosa Torr. on Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma (EAC) Tumor Bearing Mice

The antitumor activity of ethanol extract of Prosopis glandulosa Torr. (EPG) was evaluated against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) tumor model in Swiss albino mice on dose dependent manner. The activity was assessed using survival time, average increase in body weight, hematological parameters and solid tumor volume. Oral administration of EPG at the dose of 100, 200 and 400 mg/Kg, significantl...

Investigating the anti-tumoral effect of curcumin on the mice in which Ehrlich ascites and solid tumor is created

Objective(s): In this study, the effects of different doses of curcumin application on Ehrlich ascites tumor (EAT) created in the mice of BALB/c type were investigated.Materials and Methods: Curcumin extracts can have hindering effect on tumor volume, vascular density, EAT cells around the tissues, and can support apoptosis. EAT cells (1x106) received from stock animals were injected intraperit...

Kinetics of proliferation, migration, and death of L1210 ascites cells.

i.p. into new, nonradioactive hosts. The overall growth rate of the prelabeled L1210 cells was evaluated in terms of cell cycle length, growth fraction, and cell loss due to cell migration and cell death. Following implantation into a new host, there was a 6to 12-hr lag period before peritoneal LI 210 cells started to divide. During the first 3 days of tumor growth, the average generation time ...

Biochemical effects and therapeutic potential of tunicamycin in murine L1210 leukemia.

Tunicamycin, an antibiotic which specifically inhibits the dolichol-mediated synthesis of glycoproteins, significantly decreased the incorporation of tritiated D-mannose and D-glucosamine into L1210 ascites leukemia cell glycoproteins at concentrations which affected the biosynthesis of proteins minimally. Mice receiving inoculations of L1210 cells pretreated with 10 microM tunicamycin in vitro...
